Again, all I had was my phone on me when I took Milo out for a walk today. Above is a picture of Olga's house - Olga was an elderly woman whose husband died shortly after we moved into the house right next to her. I was around 5th grade or so when we moved next to her. She was the kindest old woman - I remember her inviting us over for home cooked meals, handing out popcorn balls at Halloween, telling us stories of the early 20th century (which always fascinate me), and inviting me over to let me look through her things she'd gotten for being an Avon Lady during her career days. She also would jelly and pickle a variety of things that she'd always bring over for us. She was the sweetest lady and I was so happy to see she was still living here when we moved in the house down the street from her. Unfortunately, she either passed away or went to a nursing home because I came home from work one day and saw the for sale sign up and her son cleaning up the potted plants and curios from the garden. :( I will always remember Olga though and I'm happy to say she is a prominent childhood memory I have.
